BOND Home Instantly Makes Ceiling Fans Smarter with New IFTTT Applets

We’re excited to announce BOND’s integration with new IFTTT applets today! This is another important step for us in expanding connectivity to a wider range of systems.

The actions now available allow smart home owners to continue using the fans they already own and connect them via WiFi to home automation systems. Once connected to IFTTT, users can automate temperature related tasks to ensure maximum comfort in their home environment. Compatible systems include Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, SmartThings, Ecobee, Ring, and Nest.

According our CEO, Zohar Shinar, “IFTTT is part of the community we live in. We want to automate and connect everything in our homes, but that isn’t always possible. The BOND is about connecting the things you couldn’t – like ceiling fans – to your SMART home. We’re excited about the features and functions the new IFTTT actions offer, making it easier to keep room temperatures cool and comfortable.”

Some of the new actions the IFTTT actions add to the BOND include:

  • SmartThings owners can start their fans automatically when unlocking their door or if it detects a presence in the room.
  • Smart thermostat owners of Warmup, Ecobee, or Nest can automatically start their ceiling fans based on room temperature changes.
  • Automatic fan controls can be triggered with real-time forecast changes from Weather Underground notifications

Launched in time for the holiday season and available online, through Amazon  and Home Depot, BOND Home makes the perfect gift for anyone interested in automating their home. For $99, the BOND connects up to six existing remote -controlled fans instantly and eliminates the need to purchase new, smart ceiling fans that can cost hundreds of dollars more.
